PUBG’S NEXT BIG GAME IS AN EXTRACTION SHOOTER SET TO RELEASE IN 2024

Krafton, the creators of PUBG, has revealed that their next big game, an extraction shooter called ‘Project Black Budget,’ will be released in 2024.

The news was made at their most recent financial call, during which the developer disclosed that the game will be released in the second half of 2024.

The project is presently unknown, however it has been announced that it will be an extraction-based shooter.

The game is the latest in a flurry of extraction shooters to hit the market in recent years, with developers and publishers clearly certain that the genre is the next big thing.

However, most extraction-based shooters have failed to connect with the gaming audience. Call of Duty and Battlefield have both recently attempted to enter the genre with its own spin, with both discontinuing support shortly after release.

Krafton and its teams, on the other hand, are no strangers to major hits, with many of the devs on ‘Black Budget’ being engaged in the creation of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).

PUBG was a huge success, breaking several global records, including becoming the first video game to reach 2 million concurrent players on Steam and still holding the record for the most concurrent players of all time on Steam with 3.2 million players.

It remains to be seen whether Krafton can successfully enter the extraction shooter industry, but based on the teaser image, they appear to be going in a new way this time around.
