Display Technology
Micro-lens technology might be used in the iPhone 16 OLED displays to boost brightness while also lowering battery consumption. Solid-state technology is already used by Apple for the Touch ID Home button on the iPhone SE and the trackpad on the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models. On these gadgets, a push gesture seems like you’ve pressed a button, but it’s actually a solid surface with haptic feedback. Solid-state button technology can increase dust and water resistance because it does not require a physical depressing motor, but it does necessitate more circuitry within the iPhone. Apple does not normally build semiconductors particularly for basic iPhone models, instead employing the same chips as the Pro variants or the chip from the previous year’s iPhone models. The iPhone 15, for example, uses the A16 processor, which had previously been launched in the iPhone 14 Pro.
While one rumor claims that Apple would designate the processor used in basic iPhone 16 models the “A17,” analyst Jeff Pu believes that Apple will instead utilize the A18 and A18 Pro naming conventions, with all iPhone 16 models containing some form of A18-series chip. Pu believes that all of the chips will employ the N3E manufacturing method, and that the Pro chips may have an additional GPU core not seen in the ordinary chips.
iPhone 16 Camera Technology
The iPhone 16 Pro models may include an improved 48-megapixel Ultra Wide lens, enabling for better low-light photography. It would most likely function in the same way as the 48-megapixel Wide camera, which uses pixel binning to combine data from four pixels into a single “super pixel” for increased image quality.
The 48-megapixel wide-angle camera on the iPhone 16 Pro Max will supposedly have an eight-part hybrid lens with two glass components and six plastic pieces, as well as Apple improvements to the telephoto and ultra wide camera lenses.
